FROM ONE GIRL SCOUT TO ANOTHER...

How to get through your Gold Award with your sanity intact

Together at the Top

LET PEOPLE HELP YOU

You don't have to do it all alone. Let your family and friends support you. This is no small project you can do on your own, one way or another, you'll need others' help.
I found it difficult to work with other people too. Its hard to rely on people to stay true to what they had signed up to do.
However, in being more organized, you'll realized one big thing I can do to resolve this problem is to break large projects into smaller steps and then to simply check in with the people who I’ve assigned tasks. A quick check-in text along the way makes a big difference.  Each task done is small victory that eventually leads to a completed task.
And don't forget to touch bases with your project adviser and mentor! They want to help you!

STAY ORGANIZED

Procrastination might work in school, but it won't for your Gold Award. Instead of dreading when you have to pull that all-nighter to do everything you said you were going to do, dust off that calendar app on your phone and use it to set small goals for yourself! Program in every little milestone you're going to achieve day by day to keep track of them all. It will make a difference! Rather than having your stomach clench every time you think of your Gold Award, you'll be okay because you'll know what to do. You might let it slip and get behind schedule--you won't change overnight! But every time you do, hopefully there'll be a little less procrastination.

DON'T FORGET TO THANK YOUR CIRCLE

As you go through your project, you'll get stressed out, its natural. Don't forget those people who listen to you rant and worry and who push you to get back on your feet and back out there changing the world! They're the kind of people you want to keep around! So don't forget to let them know how amazing they are once you've reached the finish line!
